The concept of energy-efficient house is becoming more popular among Romanians, the request for such buildings increasing significantly within the past years.
During the past three years, there have been more and more energy-efficient houses built all over Romania, and countless conferences, lectures, and presentations on this topic have been organized, in order to raise awareness about the characteristics and benefits of the energy-efficient house. Moreover, the energy-efficient house has been a constant presence at the real estate fairs organized in Romania in the last years.
Twenty-seven years after the first energy-efficient house was built, in Darmstadt-Kranichstein (Germany), more than 4000 such buildings are now built all over the world, the clients becoming more interested in the benefits brought by these constructions on an economic and ecologic level.
In Romania, the concept was only recently adopted, and the first energy-efficient house was built in 2010, in Plopu, Prahova. By the year 2016, our country already had four houses of this kind already finished, a few dozen other being currently under construction.
